On Thursday, April 17, 2008 we were thrilled and honored to have author/singer/songwriter/actress/environmental activist Katie Lee perform for our Middle School and High School students.  Katie is a Southwestern icon and legend, and she's also 88 years old - so we were very fortunate to have her come.   Her presentation about Glen Canyon before the dam was breathtakingly beautiful and also painful.  Our students were stunned to see what has been lost to them.  Katie's DVD about activism should inspire our students to take a stand on issues important to them.   To learn more about Katie, go to www.katydoodit.com

Our final author of the year is Flagstaff author Matthew Hall.  He will be doing a K-3 presentation on Thursday, April 24 in the MPR during 7th hour.  His book "Phoebe and Chub" is destined to become a Grand Canyon classic.  We look forward to his presentation.
